Employment Opportunities
Baker Valley Vector Control District is currently accepting applications for a Field Technician for the summer. The Job spans roughly June through September. Job duties may include but are not limited to:

Traveling throughout the district to inspect mosquito larval sites (Ponds, sloughs, flooded pastures, etc.)

Apply larvicides with power backpack sprayers and other equipment to larval sites.

Responding to service requests made by the public.

Apply pesticides with a truck mounted ULV fogger at dusk and/or dawn

Setting mosquito traps throughout the district on a weekly basis

Operate district vehicles and atv’s

Some general maintenance
Work week is typically Monday through Friday. Hours are typically 40+ hours per week, but may vary depending on weather patterns. Applicants must:

Be at least 18 years of age

Have a valid Oregon Driver’s License

Obtain their Public Pesticide Applicators License from the Oregon Department of Agriculture. (study material provided)

Be physically capable of crossing fences, traversing uneven terrain with power backpack sprayers, and lift up to 50 lbs.
